Lest you feel bad for ex-Seahawk kicker Josh Brown, here’s an update on how he’s doing out in St. Louis.

Economic Stimulus Payment!

We just received our economic stimulus payment and are almost as giddy as a crackhead when the wellfare check clears. Of course real crackheads wouldn’t be sharing our giddiness because in order to get the six hundred ($600) dollars, one needs to have at least three thousand ($3,000) dollars in income and have filed a tax return. If there is one thing we learned from our stint as crack addicts, it’s that crackheads don’t file tax returns: they afraid of getting audited because their records are terrible.

Obama Gets Kumar’s Vote: How will Fox News use this Picture?

We just heard that Kal Penn, AKA Kumar/Taj/Name-of-questionably-portrayed-character-of-Indian-decent, is writing young undecided superdelegates asking them to commit to Barack Obama.

Kumar back Obama

Sure, it would be awesome to get a letter from a movie star asking for your vote. What 23 or 25 year-old wouldn’t–WAIT! There are 23 year old SUPERdelegates? Really? How stupid is this system for choosing your presidential candidate?

Ways to put off working Monday, suggestion 3

So we’re just going to come right out and say this: we like Weird Al.

You can judge us all you want, but the guy is funny smart. Corny? Yes. Over the top? Yes. But to those of us growing up in middle-class white-bread suburbia in the 80s (*cough*Redmond*cough*), the guy was like our Aristophanes.

We still remember sitting around listening to the VINYL version of “Weird Al In 3D” on our bedroom floor, while playing with our Masters of the Universe action figures. Weird Al was a staple of our budding comedy-foundation. Today, we proudly out ourselves as Weird Al fans.

Enjoy wasting time with this clever parody of Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues (complete with man and rabbi talking in the corner):

The Plug is a little online ‘zine that is exceptionally creative. Give it a minute and you’ll get lost in the bite-sized articles, that are easily digestible in between cubicle visits from your boss and co-workers.

Some of our favorite articles from The Plug:

“Stranger Photos Have Happened”

“Signs of Boredom”

“I wonder if that will go through the mail”

If there’s one thing we learned from Garfield — other than how to be self effacing about one’s own weight issues — it’s that Mondays suck. We find it particularly hard to assemble the courage to work on Monday mornings. Instead, we’re constantly on the lookout for good diversions that allow us to sit at our desk and appear busy whilst we contemplate how we never got around to the things we intended to get around to over the weekend.

In service of this goal… we’ve found Pinch Hitter 2 to be an invaluable waste of time. It’s so frustrating. We love it. (And yes, we FINISHED the game, after about 9000 tries.)
